Quick & Easy: Russian Kotlety

Ever had those days were you don't really know what to do for supper? Or when you're just not in the mood to slave over the stove?..

Here's my variation of the Russian Kotlety (pronounced as "cutlety") recipe that is quick and easy to whip up. It'll take you maybe 10-15 minutes to prepare and mix the ingredients together, and then maybe another 20-30 minutes to cook (depending on your amounts).

Ingredients:
* Ground meat (any type and any amount, really! I do not recommend beef only as the kotlety will be a bit on the dry side) - I used about a pound of lean ground pork
* 1 egg (if you use a large amount of meat, add another egg)
* 1 large potato (grate it to a puree consistency) - I decided to grate it into larger chunks, once again, your call
* Onion, chopped (use as much or as little as you want)
* Salt & pepper to taste
~ other ingredients that you can add to the mixture - chopped mushrooms, garlic, favourite spices, even zucchini ~

Directions:
1. Chop all of the ingredients and mix them well in a large bowl

2. Using a tablespoon, make small patties and place them on a skillet.

 3. Cook thoroughly on each side and enjoy! (You can serve it with potatoes, rice, pasta or any other side dish!)

  1. This looks super easy and fast. I remember your dad made kotleti with mushrooms when you lived on Baseline. I think that would be nice to try too.
